Context
Bombay Sapphire’s brand world is rooted in craft, imagination, and a deep connection to art and culture.
In 2016, the brand commissioned a series of experiential projects across multiple global contexts—each requiring a distinct response while maintaining a coherent identity. These included activations during Art Basel Miami, Summit at Sea, and the Most Imaginative Bartender competition in London.
Rather than replicating a single format, the work demanded a flexible experiential language—capable of adapting to radically different audiences, venues, and cultural settings.
Scope & Contribution
MODA collaborated with Epsilon, who produced the work, contributing to creative direction and experiential design across the full series.
MODA’s contributions focused on:
-
Shaping the overarching creative vision across all activations
-
Designing experiential concepts responsive to each location and audience
-
Translating Bombay Sapphire’s emphasis on craft and imagination into spatial form
-
Creating environments that balanced brand expression with cultural relevance
-
Ensuring consistency of tone while allowing each experience to feel site-specific
Each activation was conceived as part of a larger system rather than a standalone moment.
Design Intent
The work emphasized adaptability and authorship.
Rather than imposing a fixed look, the experiential language was designed to flex—responding to architecture, geography, and context while remaining unmistakably Bombay Sapphire.
Art, craftsmanship, and social ritual were treated as primary drivers of the experience, not decorative layers.
Outcome
Across Miami, London, and international settings, the series delivered a cohesive yet varied set of experiences—reinforcing Bombay Sapphire’s cultural positioning within art, design, and the global hospitality community.
By treating experiential design as a repeatable but adaptable system, the work demonstrated how global brands can maintain integrity while engaging diverse audiences in meaningful, place-specific ways.
Attribution
These projects were produced by Epsilon. MODA contributed creative direction and experiential design across the series.
