Context
The World’s 50 Best Restaurants is one of the most influential global platforms in the culinary world—bringing together chefs, restaurateurs, media, and cultural leaders to celebrate excellence in food and hospitality.
The 2024 event required a design approach that could operate at multiple scales simultaneously: a cohesive main event environment, alongside a series of distinct sponsor activations—each with its own identity, audience, and experiential goals.
Scope & Contribution
MODA led the creative direction for the 2024 event, winning the initial pitch and shaping the overarching design concept across the full venue.
The work included:

Ensuring each sponsor activation expressed a distinct brand identity while remaining part of a coherent whole

The challenge was not just differentiation, but orchestration—designing a system in which many voices could coexist without visual or experiential fragmentation.
Design Intent
Rather than treating the event as a collection of standalone moments, the design emphasized continuity, flow, and hierarchy.
The main event provided a strong architectural anchor, while sponsor spaces were conceived as extensions of the larger narrative—carefully calibrated in tone, materiality, and scale to feel intentional rather than promotional.
This approach allowed the event to feel curated rather than commercial, reinforcing the cultural significance of the platform.
Outcome
The 2024 World’s 50 Best Restaurants event functioned as a seamless, high-impact experience—supporting formal ceremonies, informal exchange, and brand engagement without visual overload.
By treating the event as an integrated environment rather than a series of activations, the design elevated both the core program and the sponsor experiences—demonstrating how thoughtful creative direction can align global brands within a shared cultural framework.
